Privacy Policy — KOMpass
KOMpass uses the Strava API to display segments and compute personalized recommendations. This page explains what data is processed, why it is processed, how long it is kept, and how you can request deletion.
1) Data we process
- Minimal Strava profile data (e.g. athlete ID, first/last name, avatar).
- Recent activity data required for scoring (distance, moving time, elevation gain, date, PR/achievements).
- Segment data required for map display and ranking.
- Technical authentication data (short-lived access cookie and server-managed refresh cookie).
2) Purpose
Data is used only to provide KOMpass features: segment exploration, personalized scoring, and related insights. KOMpass does not use Strava data for advertising targeting, resale, brokerage, or AI/ML model training.
3) Access and disclosure rules
Strava data linked to your account is shown only to you within KOMpass. KOMpass does not disclose your Strava personal data to other end users.
4) Retention
- Segment data cached in your browser is kept for up to 7 days.
- Authentication cookies are retained according to their technical lifetime (short access token, bounded refresh token cookie).
- If Strava access is revoked or a deletion request is received, KOMpass removes related data from active sessions and local caches.
“KOMpass does not maintain a long-term database of Strava activity or segment data. Strava-derived data is processed on demand and may be cached only for service performance and reliability, for no longer than 7 days. When access is revoked or deletion is requested, we stop processing immediately and purge remaining cached Strava-derived data as soon as possible.”
5) Security
KOMpass applies reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including HTTPS transport and restricted cookie handling for authentication flows.
6) Sharing
Strava data is not sold or shared for advertising purposes. Processing follows the Strava API Agreement.
7) Your rights
- You can revoke KOMpass access from your Strava account at any time.
- You can request data deletion via the Data deletion page.
8) Strava API usage notice
As required by the Strava API terms, Strava may collect and use API usage information related to KOMpass integrations for operational, support, compliance, and improvement purposes.
9) Support contact
